Career choices in medicine can be one of the best career choices of this day and age. There has been a shortage in the medical field for some time and the shortage needs to become an overflow! Careers in medicine are wide ranging and careers in the medical field insure job security as well as benefits and higher paying jobs. The medical field has seen a very large shortage in nursing for sometime. That became very evident when careers in nursing took on a different path and nursing schools began 2-year RN Programs for nurses. The LPN could become a certified nurse in one year to sixteen months in some programs and nursing schools began graduating nurses as quickly as they could get them through their curriculums. The shortage even opted another career choice within the field and many positions of the medical assistants now replace the vacant positions once filled by LPN nurses. Medical technology and Cardiovascular Technology have been career choices which have sparked an interest flame as well. In addition to medical assisting and technological advancement, these two careers are vastly different and require special education for certification and degree programs. Nurse Practitioners and Physicians Assistants now roam the hospital corridors with almost as much authority as the doctors who earned their MD only the Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners spend far less time in school. Some people prefer to see a NP or a PA over seeing a family practitioner now because these medical professionals often take the time to hear what their patients are saying whereas the doctors in many offices are far too busy to spend unlimited time with their patients. Careers in medicine can even lead to a career in pharmaceuticals. Pharmacies have recognized that they may soon have a shortage and schools have encouraged students with an interest in science to pursue being a pharmacist. Pharmaceutical sales reps are paid well and advance quickly if they are well informed on the sciences, business and marketing making this medical career one which is opening doors to a very diverse crowd of individuals. Medical careers are by far on the rise. Students considering a career in any facet of medicine will find vacant positions and will also find higher salaries in the medical field. Careers in this field can be obtained in as little as one year and can mandate a lifetime of learning depending on what your goals are for your life and your career.
